GENERAL TERMS

The terms and conditions contained in these terms and conditions constitute all of the terms and conditions agreed to between the parties and no addition to or variation, amendment, cancellation or novation of these terms and conditions shall be of any force or effect unless reduced to writing and signed by the duly authorised representatives of both of the parties.

 

The termination, cancellation or expiry of these terms and conditions shall not affect the enforceability of the terms which are intended to and/or which of necessity must operate after expiry or termination. You acknowledge and agree that no promises, undertakings, warranties or representations of whatsoever nature were given to you prior to the entering into these terms and conditions other than as may be recorded in this document.

 

In the event that any of the terms of these terms and conditions are found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, such terms will be severable from the remaining terms, which will continue to be valid and enforceable.

 

We may revise or update these terms and conditions from time to time. You will be bound to any changes made at the time you register for a programme.

CANCELLATION POLICIES

The cancellation of registration for the programme should be undertaken in writing via email. Any delegate who discontinues attendance of the programme may be liable for cancellation fees as determined at the time of cancellation. Delegates are advised to review the guidelines and regulations for the detailed breakdown of the cancellation policy. Those delegates who discontinue without notifying the relevant Programme Manager in writing will remain liable for the payment of tuition fees for the entire year. 

 

Up to six weeks before programme 

  • Cancellation: You receive a full refund of the programme fee

 

From six weeks to up to 30 days before programme start

  • Cancellation: You incur a 50% cancellation fee

 

Within 30 days before programme start

  • Cancellation: You incur a 100% cancellation fee

 

 

Substitution: A participant can be substituted on the same programme session without incurring any fees. The substitute needs to apply and be admitted.

 

Please note:.Delegates who do not arrive for the programme or cancel attendance once the programme has commenced will be liable for the full fee.

This is the Privacy Statement and Policy for The Field Institute also referred to as, “The Field.” This Privacy Policy was last updated July 2018.

The Field Institute understands that your privacy is important. The Field is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information you provide or as you access and use materials on thefieldinstitute.com (the “Site”), including the Site subscription pages or other websites or apps that post a link to this Privacy Statement. In addition, information that you submit to The Field in response to an email request for information or other outreach from The Field Institute will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Statement.

The Field Institute may, in its discretion, amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. This Site may contain links to external sites which are not governed by this Privacy Statement. The Field does not take responsibility for the privacy practices of any third party sites to which we link. INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT, AND HOW WE USE IT
What information do we collect?

The Field Institute collects information from you when you subscribe to the mailing list, and register for classes. If you do not provide such information, you will not be able to register in classes or subscribe for email newsletters.

Personal information that we collect includes: names, addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, unique personal identifiers, financial information, subject areas of interest and/or demographic information.

In addition, we sometimes aggregate demographic information and the types of systems and browsers of users The Field also may conduct user surveys on the Web or use technologies to provide The Field with information on a number of areas, such as user identity, user viewing habits, whether or not users found what they were searching for, whether the Site content is relevant to user needs, and the like.

How do we use personal information?

The purposes and uses of your personal information will depend on the use of the Site and the personal information provided. We process your personal information:

(i) for the purposes of safeguarding the legitimate interests pursued by The Field Institute. This includes:

  • Informing you about updates to the service and notifying you about other products and services offered by The Field Institute that may be of interest to you, including information regarding publications and events

  • Understanding the Site’s user population and identifying subject areas of interest

  • Measuring and improving the effectiveness of The Field Institute’s marketing programs across different channels.

  • Improving our web content and navigation.

(ii) on the basis of your consent. Insofar as you have granted us consent to the processing of personal information for specific purposes (for example, your registration to classes at The Field), the lawfulness of such processing is based on your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

The Field Institute retains your personal information for so long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.

 
MARKETING

If, at any time, you prefer not to receive further communications from us in any or all forms you will have the ability to unsubscribe from such communications by means of a link provided in every e-mail that is sent to you by us.

SECURITY PROCESSES

The Field Institute has in place appropriate technological and operational security processes designed to protect personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. Only authorized employees will have access to any data provided by you, and that access is limited by need. Each employee having access to any personally-identifiable information is obligated to maintain its confidentiality. Although we take steps that are generally accepted as industry standard to protect your personally-identifiable information, The Field Institute cannot guarantee that your personally-identifiable information will not become accessible to unauthorized persons and The Field Institute cannot be responsible for any actions resulting from a breach of security when information is supplied over the internet or any public computer network.

 
COMPLIANCE WITH LAW

The Field Institute complies with all applicable privacy laws and regulations. The Field may be compelled to surrender personal user or customer information to legal authorities if presented with a court subpoena or similar legal or administrative order, or as required or permitted by the laws, rules and regulations of any nation, state or other applicable jurisdiction.
