MEET THE FIELD'S EXECUTIVE TEAM

ALISON JACOBSON

Alison is a Director of The Field Institute and was previously Group Principal Digital Strategist at Dimension Data Group where she launched the Group’s Global Digital Advisory practice.

Alison is a thought leader on emerging technology and our strategic responses to it. She coaches executives globally and is a published author and speaker on the topic of digital leadership and customer-centric strategy. Over decades of experience in digital consulting and software development, Alison has led the large-scale digital transformation of businesses across FMCG, Retail, Pharma, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, IT, Education and Financial Services.

BARBARA DALE-JONES

Barbara Dale-Jones is a digital transformation and innovation specialist with more than 20 years of experience in organisational leadership, most recently consulting on digital transformation in Dimension Data’s Global Digital Practice.

 

In previous roles, she was responsible for negotiating and setting up new Open University programmes in Southern and East Africa and was the CEO of BRIDGE, a key learning NPO in South Africa. Currently, Barbara is a director of the Thunderbay Collective, one of the founders of The Field, and regularly writes on education for the Mail & Guardian.

DR TAMARA CARLETON

Tamara is a global leader in helping organizations to create vision-led, radical innovations. She is the CEO and founder of Innovation Leadership Group LLC and lead author of the Playbook for Strategic Foresight and Innovation, a hands-on guide that has been used by hundreds of the world’s most innovative companies to make their teams more successful. She is an instructor at Stanford University, an Adjunct Professor at American University, and a Visiting Professor at Osaka Institute of Technology in Japan.

NIVEN POSTMA

Niven is a Senior Associate of The Field Institute where she focuses on the development of Triple Strength Leadership, the ability to appreciate the needs, priorities, languages and incentives of people across all three sectors and so doing, to understand and address multi-disciplinary, complex challenges.

ALEX COWAN

Alex helps MBA’s become digital innovators at UVA Darden where he teaches claases in Software Design & Software Development and the extremely popular Agile Development specialization on Coursera. He’s also Managing Director at Synapse Partners, reinventing corporate innovation by connecting Fortune 500 companies with the technologies, practices and startups that are shaping the future.

JEFF COLVIN

Jeff has a wealth of worldwide experience in training and consulting. He has delivered courses and workshops in over 20 countries for Stanford University and has provided mentoring and coaching to support the individual, the team, and the organization. Jeff founded D3Strategy, a management consulting group focused on strategic success through the translation of innovation to execution.

 

MEET THE FIELD'S CONSULTING ASSOCIATES

JANICE BAARD

Janice is The Field Institute’s Customer & Market Research Lead. Her long-standing experience in marketing and her approach to human-centred design and customer discovery provide The Field’s customers with unique in-depth insights from design thinking processes to jobs-to-be-done analyses.

SUZANNE HATTINGH

Suzanne, a Senior Associate of The Field, has in-depth knowledge and extensive practical experience across the spectrum of human resources. She is regularly invited to share her expertise in radio and television broadcasts. Her work in learning and development includes practical implementation and national policy-making programmes.

PAT SULLIVAN

Pat is a highly regarded skills development expert with a focus on transforming complex environments. At The Field she runs government development programmes, especially in the area of education and social development.

JEETESH KATHAWAROO

Jeetesh is adept at helping organizations practically translate strategy into execution. He’s able to quickly diagnose the issues at hand, identify the challenges ahead and put an executable plan in place to deliver the required results, while advising and coaching senior leaders through the implementation process. Jeetesh works with customers to translate strategy into focused execution programs and initiatives.

BEN GILLIES

Ben is a strategic and adaptive Human Resources Practitioner with a degree in Industrial Psychology from Stellenbosch University and over 18 years of experience in the field across a range of industries. He is passionate about defining how Human Capital will be impacted by technology from a Learning & Development perspective.

MELISSA KING

Melissa works across sectors in adult education on curriculum, assessment, and materials development. She works extensively with The Field Institute in projects related to knowledge management, curriculum design and materials development and assessment.

SALOME POSTHUMUS

Salome has extensive experience managing projects from conceptualisation through to delivery, and is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). At The Field Salome designs and develops digital learning interventions.
